In high school, I was fascinated by the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship. I always knew I wanted to work with small businesses, but I wasn't sure how. I bounced around, learning business, web design, SEO, and graphic design

I wasn't sure what I wanted to study in college so I took a gap year. After graduating, I headed to Montana and worked in a conservation corps to clear my head, have an adventure, and do some good honest work. I had a lot of fun, had some tough days, and grew a lot.
Working With a Contractor
By the time I came back I knew I was interested in small business, especially the trades. I found a job with an amazing small contractor who drilled and maintained water wells. I experienced firsthand what running a small trade company looks like: Most people don't understand how hands on it is, how busy you get, and how hard it is to juggle good businesses practices with doing good work.
